Welcome to Shelton Juniors!
Welcome to Shelton and thank you to everyone in our amazing community as we rise to the challenges that COVID has thrown at us all. What I have realised is that our children are resilient, happy and supportive students and when we all work together we can get through this really difficult period together.
I continue to work closely with the governors the staff to ensure that we operate safely and effectively. Like you, I can’t wait to get a little bit more “back to normal” and carry on with the exciting developments that we have planned for later in the coming year.
From my experience of working in a number of different schools, I know that a successful and happy school depends on all of us working together. Families make a vital contribution to children’s achievements at school, and I want to continue to develop the relationship between our school and parents and carers. I encourage you to speak to us if you have any concerns, queries, or suggestions.

At Shelton Junior School, all our dedicated and hard-working staff are committed to providing our children with the best teaching and learning opportunities possible. It is our aim for all of our children to achieve high academic standards in all subjects. It is also our firm belief that it is every child’s right to receive excellent provision in other curriculum areas too, many of which we deliver through our enriched curriculum.
We have a very strong ‘You Can Do It’ ethos at school. Our Shelton Super Powers help us all to achieve the very best we can. Working together, we strive to ensure our children develop academically, morally, socially, emotionally and spiritually every day.
Here at Shelton Junior School, our wonderful children know they are expected to work hard, dress smartly in our uniform, behave well and attend school every day. We encourage children to be able to work with others in a team as well as independently and make the most of their time in school. In return we meet the needs of all our children, and ensure they can become the best they can be.
We have different incentive schemes which reward children for their efforts, behaviour and attendance. Our children take pride in being a member of Shelton. It is a truly great place to learn – for both adults and children alike!

At Shelton Junior School, we feel that fostering a lifelong love of learning is one of our core aims. Establishing this enthusiasm for learning involves a key partnership between your child, the school and, of course, yourselves.
Effective communication is crucial to this partnership and we believe that this website will give the school a basis for sharing information with both existing and prospective parents. We also feel that this website will give us the opportunity to showcase the children’s many successes.
