Dame Margaret Beckett visits Shelton Junior School
What a fantastic visit from Dame Margaret Beckett on 29th April.
Dame Margaret held a question and answer session with some of our children. She spoke about her involvement in key national issues like climate change, nuclear disarmament and the minimum wage, and encouraged our children to have their say in the world too.
Following a whole school assembly – broadcast virtually accross the school – Dame Margaret and the children buried a time capsule containing children’s work and reflections from lockdown.
In a letter included in our time capsule she says:
“I am sure that, whatever is happening in the world in the future, all at Shelton Junior School will be continuing to learn trust and succeed together.”
Great to have the the support at Shelton Junior School of such an inspirational lady!
